Gables High Alumnus Hosts Benefit Concert for Theater Education

Kristina Pupo, an up and coming Pop Artist and Coral Gables High Alumnus, is giving back to her alma mater with a live concert fundraiser benefiting the Gables High Theater Department. Pump up the Drama Benefit Concert, presented by Kristina Pupo will take place Thursday, November 17th at 7:30pm with pre-show starting at 6:30pm. The show will be held in the beautiful Coral Gables Senior High Auditorium, 450 Bird Road in Miami, FL. Admission is $5 for pre-sale tickets, and $7 at the door.

A Miami native, Kristina Pupo has brought her unique versatility to the Pop music world. Accustomed to playing several roles from her days as 2004 Thespian President, she plays the part of songwriter, composer, and producer and headed up the recording process of her debut album, Things I Never Say. KP has spent the years since her graduation from Coral Gables touring the music scene in Los Angeles, and most recently, New York City. Now, she’s returning to her hometown with hopes of lighting up the Miami music scene, and making a difference in the community. Her first stop: raising money to aid the Arts in Education.

Pump up the Drama will raise money for the Coral Gables Senior High Theater Department, to allow students to participate in State competitions and theater upkeep. “The Drama program at Gables High has always been very special to me as it is currently to a lot of their students. It’s a shame that due to so many budget cuts to Arts Education, some of these students may not be able to showcase their talents in competitions, or help renovate their black box theater. These kids are extremely dedicated and talented and deserve the opportunity to go the distance without so many budgeting hurdles,” the Pop Songstress commented, as she takes charge planning a one of a kind event. KP, backed up by a stellar band, will perform a full-length concert set; featuring songs off of her debut album and exclusive tracks from her upcoming sophomore effort. The concert will spotlight the Gables Theater Program, with videos and interviews from some of their brilliant productions. One hundred percent of the ticket proceeds will go to the Theater Department, as well as twenty-five percent of Kristina Pupo’s album sales at the event.

With all the makings of a night to remember, the event welcomes students, adults, community leaders, artists, and all who would love to enjoy a musical spectacle, for a good cause.

“I’m doing everything in my power to ensure an incredible show. It’s a Thursday night, a great way to build up excitement for the weekend. You can go to a bar or a nightclub and spend a two drink minimum to hear fifteen minutes of live music, or you can come to the Pump up the Drama Benefit Concert, and be wowed; while making a difference!” – Kristina Pupo
